How Cub Scouting works

Cub Scout activities are centered around earning  badges that are specific to each school grade level.  This badge represents a rank.  Advancement refers to the progress a Cub Scout makes toward their badge of rank.  Cub Scouts Dens meet once or twice a month to complete activities such as games, crafts, hiking and other outdoor activities, practicing skits and songs for Pack Meetings, and fulfilling advancement requirements such as service projects.  The Den Leader will coordinate everyone's efforts and assists with the meeting.  Our pack lets parents fulfill requirements with cub scouts individually if they miss a meeting where the requirements are completed as a group.  All of the activities for each rank are in the Cub Scout handbooks.

Kindergartners: Lion Den

First Graders: Tigers Den

Second Graders: Wolf Den

Third Graders: Bear Den

Fourth Graders: Webelos Den

Fifth Graders: Arrow of Light Den

The Pack Committee is made up of adult volunteers who meet once a month to manage Pack's finances, plan events, train leaders, etc.  Adult partners of Scouts are welcome to join the Committee meetings any time.

Pack Meetings

All of the Dens meet together once a month at Pack Meetings.  Pack 248 Meetings are typically held the first Wednesday of every month from 6 - 7:30  PM at Buena Vista Elementary.  Scouts participate in skits, songs, games, and other fun activities at Pack Meetings.  They also have the opportunity to lead their fellow Scouts in these activities and to show off what they’ve been working on in their monthly Den Meetings. Non-scout siblings are welcome to attend.  Pack Meetings are led by our Cub Master who encourages everyone with the Scout Motto: Do your best!
